More
information about the weekend:
The best 10K championship race in
New England!
Why? This year, with your support and the support of the Rutland Region
Chamber of Commerce, there are exciting Race Weekend events designed for the
athletes and to attract spectators and visitors. The weekend “kicks off” on
Saturday, June 12th, with the 4th Annual Crowley Brothers' Annual
Sport and Fitness Expo (10-3:30 p.m.) to be held at the Rutland Middle School
Keefe Gym on Library Avenue. Sunday's main event of the 10K race also
includes the 10K relay, the 3rd Annual 5K race, and 5K Walk, and 5K
Corporate Challenge Walk. Yes, this is a weekend full of events for runners,
athletes and families....something for everyone!
The 10th Annual Kids’ Downtown Mile Run is also slated to be bigger than
ever. This event has grown from 50 runners to 300+ in the past few years.
Children from the
Rutland
County schools participate in this event along with young runners from
Canada, and all other states in
New England. This is a fun run for children with the main
purpose of promoting healthy hearts and bodies through youth fitness. This
event celebrates a week long “fitness for the heart” in the area schools.
Don’t miss
any of the weekend events. Support the fight against the #1 killer of men
and women…Heart Disease…, and help educate our youth to be heart
healthy and physically fit.
Get ready! The 34th running of the Crowley Brother's Memorial 10K Road Race
and the 5K race will be held on
Sunday,
June 13, 2010 at 8 AM.
These races are certified 10 K (6.2 miles) and 5 K (3.1 miles) point to
point championship courses from Proctor to Rutland, Vermont.
The reason all racers need to be thinking now about this June event is that
in order to make this an administrative and competitively friendly race; no
registrations will be accepted after June 4, 2010 unless
accompanied by a $10 late entry fee in addition to the entry fee.
